Why Yashoda

Made slowly. Used daily.

Yashoda started with a simple question: why rush something that gives food its soul? Every jar begins with at least 24 litres of pure desi cow milk. Our cows are cherished and worshipped, graze openly in the fields, and are milked gently by hand.

The result is a fragrant, naturally grainy ghee with a clean finish - rooted in Ayurvedic tradition and made for the way you cook today.

By hand open-field cows, milked with care

A ritual of care, passed from one kitchen to the next.

From milk to jar

The old way is the good way.

Three unhurried steps. Organic cow milk, no preservatives and nothing hidden behind a factory shortcut.

Curd, set slowly

Set — Curd, set slowly

Fresh organic A2 cow milk rests overnight in an earthen pot until it becomes thick, naturally tangy curd.

Butter, by hand

Churn — Butter, by hand

The set curd is gently churned in a wooden bilona. The butter gathers slowly, keeping every batch small and full of character.

Ghee, golden

Clarify — Ghee, golden

Butter is warmed low and slow in a brass kadai until the milk solids settle and the clear, aromatic ghee rises.

Goodness in the everyday

A golden spoonful for a balanced life.

Enjoy Yashoda as part of nourishing meals, active routines and family traditions. Ghee is one ingredient in a balanced diet — not a replacement for protein, sleep, prenatal care or medical advice.

Fuel & recovery

A small serving adds energy-dense fat to meals around an active routine. Pair it with protein, movement and rest; ghee itself is not a proven testosterone booster.

Gentle nourishment

A warm spoonful with dal, rice or roti can be part of a varied eating pattern. Individual digestion differs, so enjoy the amount that feels right for you.

Prenatal balance

Dietary fats are one part of prenatal nutrition and support fetal brain development alongside overall nourishment. Pregnancy needs are personal — check with your clinician.

Questions, answered.

A good pantry staple should be easy to understand. Here is everything you need to know before your first spoonful.

What makes it A2?
Yashoda is made from the milk of indigenous desi cows, traditionally understood to contain the A2 beta-casein protein.
Why does the texture change?
Seasonal temperature changes naturally affect ghee's granular texture. It may become firm, grainy, or silky without affecting its quality.
How should I store my jar?
Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Always use a clean, dry spoon and close the lid after each use.
How do I use Yashoda ghee?
Use it for cooking, sautéing, roasting, or simply add a spoonful to warm food for a rich, nourishing finish.
Is it suitable for everyday cooking?
Yes. Yashoda can be used as an everyday cooking fat, including for sautéing, tempering, baking, and finishing dishes.
What is the shelf life?
For the best experience, follow the best-before date on the jar and keep the product protected from moisture and heat.
Why is there no need to refrigerate it?
Ghee has very little moisture, so it is designed to remain stable at room temperature when stored properly in a clean, dry jar.
How can I tell if my ghee is ready to use?
The ghee should have a clean, buttery aroma and smooth or naturally grainy texture. If it has been exposed to moisture or develops an unusual smell, do not use it.
